A- READING COMPREHENSION (7 pts)
Read the text carefully and answer the questions:

Isalo National Park is situated in the Ihorombe Region, in the southern part of Madagascar. The park is known for its wide variety of terrain, including sandstone formations, deep canyons, a palm-lined oasis and grasslands. The closest town is Ranohira, the closest cities are Toliara and Ihosy.
Isalo National Park was created in 1962 and has been administrated by Madagascar National Park authority since 1997. The Bara people, a nomadic population subsisting on cattle farming, have traditionally inhabited this area. This region has a tropical dry climate with seasonal rainfall.
A total of 340 fauna species are known to inhabit the area, including 82 tropical species of birds, 33 species of reptiles, 15 species of frogs and 14 species of mammals.
A local guide is required for visitors. It is not ease to go alone in the park. Porters can be needed in Ranohira. Treks* in the park can last from several hours to a week or longer. The park includes several natural swimming pools which are popular among tourists. The main threat to this park is the practice of slash and burn limits the extent of the forest.
*Trek = long, hard journey, especially on foot.
