TEXT: In the post

Publicity is everywhere. It fills our letterboxes; it’s all our TV screens, our buses, our magazines, and even our clothes. We usually accept or ignore it. But it sometimes causes problems. Half of the post that arrives in our letterboxes is publicity. Ninety million trees are cut down to make the paper for it. Most of it goes in the bin without being read. American’s junk mail makes five million tons of rubbish every year, causing serious pollution problems. But in spite of that, we really get more you? Well, in the United States? they can. People just have to write to an organization called the Direct Marketing Association, saying that they don’t want to receive any publicity. D.M.A. will inform all done it already. And they’ve saved thousands of trees.
