(…) According to the World Bank report, in 1988 alone, 330 million urban dwellers in developing countries were said to be poor, a situation that was not expected to change much in the following years. When people are too poor to afford basic necessities such as food and clothing, how can they afford to rent or build a decent house?
High interest rates and inflation push bank loan payments far out of reach of many families, and soaring utility costs make it difficult for people to get ahead. Unemployment rates as high as 20% in some countries make it impossible to make ends meet.
These factors have forced hundreds of million people in every corner of the earth to live in substandard housing. They live in old buses, shipping containers and cardboard boxes, under staircases, plastic sheetings and scarps of used lumber. Even abandoned industrial sites have become shelters for them.
To address this housing crisis, substantial efforts are being made by organizations and governments. In Japan, for example, several agencies have been set up to construct affordable housing. Other countries, such as
Madagascar, have directed their efforts toward identifying construction methods that will result in inexpensive housing (…)

But in a country like ours, Madagascar, women’s place is at home doing the household like washing the clothes, the laundry, cleaning the house. And in this world of evolution, knowledge is the power to develop a country. If she hasn’t finished her school studies yet before she become a housewife, her husband will disrespect and disregard her. If she won’t to be a slave of her husband and depends on him, a girl should finish her high school studies if she wants to become a housewife. So, nowadays, it’s very important for a girl to finish her high school studies.
